— The fine print, served kindly
Terms &
Conditions.
The agreement between us — written in plain language,
so you actually know what you’re saying yes to.
— Welcome to the kitchen
By browsing The Recipe Craft, signing up for our Sunday Letter, or cooking from our recipes, you’re agreeing to these terms. We’ve kept them as warm and readable as we can — but they’re still a legal agreement, so please give them a proper read.

01
— Introduction
An agreement between us.
The Recipe Craft (referred to throughout as “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a food publication and recipe site operated from Brooklyn, New York. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at therecipecraft.com, including all recipes, articles, newsletters, and community spaces we publish.
By accessing the site, subscribing, leaving a comment, or buying anything from us, you agree to these Terms. If any part of them doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t use the site — we’d rather you cooked from somewhere you’re fully comfortable with.
02
— The Essentials
Who can use this site, and how.
Eligibility & Age
You must be at least 16 years old to subscribe to our newsletter, leave a comment, or buy anything from us. Children under 13 should not provide personal information through the site at all — we comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you’re between 13 and 16, please ask a parent or guardian before signing up. By using the site, you confirm you meet these age requirements.
User Responsibilities
When you use the site, you agree to do so lawfully and respectfully. That means no harassment in the comments, no scraping our content, no attempting to break the site, no impersonating other readers or our editors, and no uploading anything malicious. If you create an account or subscription, you’re responsible for keeping your login details safe and for the activity that happens under them.
Intellectual Property
All recipes, photographs, illustrations, articles, and design on The Recipe Craft are the property of The Recipe Craft and our contributors, protected by copyright and trademark law. You’re welcome to print or save recipes for your own personal cooking. Sharing a photograph and a brief description on social media with a link back to the original recipe is encouraged. You may not, however, republish full recipes or photographs on another website, in a book, in a commercial newsletter, or for paid use without our written permission. To request permission, write to press@therecipecraft.com.
Privacy & Your Data
Your privacy matters to us. The personal information you share — your name, email, comments, and any reader stories — is handled according to our Privacy Policy. We never sell your data, never feed your messages into AI tools, and only use what’s necessary to send you the newsletter or respond to your questions. By using the site, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.
03
— Comments & Submissions
When you share something with us.
When you leave a comment, share a photo of something you cooked from one of our recipes, send us a kitchen story, or contribute a guest post, you keep the copyright in what you create. By submitting it, however, you grant The Recipe Craft a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, share, and edit it for length on the site, in the newsletter, and on our social channels — always with credit to you.
You confirm that anything you submit is your own work, doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights, and isn’t defamatory, harassing, or illegal. We reserve the right to edit, decline, or remove any submission that doesn’t fit our community guidelines or editorial standards — and to remove comments that target other readers, contain spam, or stray far from the recipe in question.
04
— Shop & Subscriptions
If you buy from us.
Payments & Pricing
Whether you’re buying a digital cookbook, an online cooking class, or signing up for a paid newsletter tier, payments are processed by trusted third-party providers (Stripe and PayPal). Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and include applicable taxes where required. By making a purchase, you authorize the relevant payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the full order amount.
Refunds & Returns
Digital products (cookbooks, classes, downloadable guides) are refundable within 14 days of purchase if you haven’t downloaded or accessed more than 25% of the content. Physical products — once we add them — can be returned in unused condition within 30 days, with the buyer responsible for return shipping. To request a refund, email hello@therecipecraft.com with your order number and we’ll respond within 3 working days.
Subscriptions & Renewals
Paid subscriptions (such as a Sunday Letter premium tier) renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account dashboard or by emailing us; the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period, and you keep access until then. We don’t offer pro-rated refunds for partial subscription periods, but we’ll always work with you in good faith if something has gone wrong.
Shipping & International Orders
Physical orders ship from Brooklyn within 5 working days. Estimated delivery times and shipping costs are shown at checkout. For international orders, you are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees imposed by your country — these are not included in our prices and are charged separately by your local customs authority. Some countries may have restrictions on the items we ship; please check before ordering.
05
— What’s Off Limits
Prohibited activities.
A short list of things that aren’t allowed when you use The Recipe Craft. We hold these without exception, because they protect the cooks, readers, and contributors who make this site what it is.
- Republishing recipes, photographs, or articles in full without our written permission.
- Scraping the site or harvesting reader information through automated tools.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or back-end systems.
- Uploading viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt the site.
- Harassing, threatening, or impersonating other readers, our editors, or our contributors.
- Using the site or its content to train AI models without our explicit permission.
- Using The Recipe Craft for commercial purposes (paid newsletters, books, ad-supported sites that re-publish our work) without a partnership agreement.
- Violating any applicable U.S., state, or international law in connection with the site.
06
— Disclaimers & Liability
The legal bit, in plain words.
Recipes are not professional advice
Our recipes are written for general home cooking. They are not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. If you have allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, or specific health conditions, please consult a qualified medical professional before adapting any recipe. Cooking, particularly with hot surfaces and sharp tools, carries inherent risk — please use common sense and supervise children in the kitchen.
“As is” warranty
The Recipe Craft is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we test every recipe and aim for accuracy, we make no warranties — express or implied — that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific recipe will produce the intended result in your kitchen. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Recipe Craft, its editors, and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, recipes, or any product purchased through us — including, but not limited to, lost profits, lost data, food allergies, or kitchen mishaps. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us (if anything) in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Recipe Craft, its editors, contributors, and partners from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
07
— Third Parties & Termination
Outside our walls.
Third-Party Services & Links
The site uses trusted third-party services for newsletter delivery, payment processing, analytics, and embedded video — including Stripe, PayPal, Mailchimp, YouTube, and Vimeo. We also link to other sites we trust (cookbooks, contributor portfolios, brands we’ve worked with). We’re not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of these external services. Affiliate links — where we earn a small commission on purchases — are clearly labeled and never influence our editorial recommendations.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the site, your subscription, or your account at any time — with or without notice — if you breach these Terms, harm other readers, or behave in a way that puts the site or its community at risk. You can end your relationship with us at any time by unsubscribing, closing your account, or simply not using the site. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will continue to apply.
Geographic Reach
The Recipe Craft is operated from the United States. We’re delighted that readers visit from all over the world, but the site is designed and hosted under U.S. law and may not be appropriate or available in every jurisdiction. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws. Some products or services may not ship internationally.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. If a dispute arises between us, we’ll always try to sort it out informally first — please email hello@therecipecraft.com with the details. If we can’t reach a resolution within 30 days, the dispute will be settled by binding arbitration in New York County, New York, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in a class action against us where permissible.
08
— Changes to These Terms
Recipes get tweaked. So do these.
We may update these Terms from time to time — to reflect new services we offer, new laws that apply to us, or simply to make a section clearer. When we make a substantial change, we’ll post the updated version here, change the “Last revised” date at the top, and send a brief note in the next Sunday Letter. Continuing to use the site after we’ve posted an update means you accept the revised Terms.
