Respecting creators & copyright

As a publisher of original recipes, photography, and editorial content, we understand the time, craft, and care that goes into creative work. We are committed to protecting the rights of authors, photographers, and other creators — including our own contributors — and to acting responsibly when allegations of infringement are brought to our attention.

If you believe that any content on www.therecipecraft.com infringes your copyright, please follow the procedure outlined below. We will review every properly submitted notice in good faith and take appropriate action.

02 — Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

What to include in your notice

To be effective under the DMCA, your written notice must be sent to our Designated Agent (see Section 08 below) and must include the following information:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, for multiple works, a representative list).
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the exact URL(s) on www.therecipecraft.com where it appears.
• Your contact information — full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good‑faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Notices that are missing any of the above elements may not be valid under the DMCA, and we may be unable to act on them.

03 — How We Respond

Our review & takedown process

When we receive a properly submitted DMCA notice, we will:

1. Review the notice for completeness and good‑faith belief.
2. Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material if the notice appears valid.
3. Notify the user, contributor, or author who posted the material, where applicable.
4. Forward a copy of the takedown notice to the affected party so they have the opportunity to respond or file a counter‑notice.

We aim to act on valid notices within a reasonable timeframe, typically within a few business days of receipt.

04 — Filing a Counter‑Notice

If your content was removed in error

If you believe that material you posted was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter‑notice to our Designated Agent. To be effective under the DMCA, your counter‑notice must include:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good‑faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in the district where you reside (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or their agent.

Once we receive a valid counter‑notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. Unless the complainant files a court action seeking a restraining order against you within 10–14 business days, we may restore the removed material.

05 — Repeat Infringer Policy

Accounts & access

In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, accounts of users or contributors who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We may also limit access to www.therecipecraft.com or terminate accounts of any users who infringe intellectual property rights, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

06 — False or Misleading Claims

Please file responsibly

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that it was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. Before filing a notice or counter‑notice, please consider whether the use in question may be authorized, licensed, or permitted under fair use. If you are unsure, we recommend consulting an attorney.

07 — Changes to This Policy

Updates and revisions

We may revise this DMCA Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date shown at the top of this page. Continued use of www.therecipecraft.com after revisions are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
